TYPE OF BIKE AND CLOTHING
We recommend enduro bikes, not DH.
The use of protections and full-face helmet is highly recommended. Windproof raincoats are very useful in spring and autumn.
TYPOLOGY OF ROUTES
The trails are less complicated than those mentioned in the Classic Tour.
These are medium-easy routes with a slope of about 400 m and a length ranging from 2 to 4 km. The bottom of the natural terrain, shores and artificial supports in some sections ensure the flow of the path.
LOCATION
"Middle Earth" or "Terra di Mezzo" (Middle Earth). This expression defines the vast territory which, starting from the main watershed, reaches the Ligurian Alps. Val Bormida and Val Tanaro are the two main valleys that characterize this vast area. Endless woods, streams, rivers, small towns characterize these places, mostly unknown to mass tourism.
For more than 20 years, Fabrizio Valenti and Fulvio Balbi have dedicated much of their time to the creation of new paths. Thanks to them, we can now enjoy a unique network of trails.
The amazing “Wild” in places like Garessio, Bardineto, Calizzano or the legendary Defender Tour in Osiglia is concrete proof of that. This tour is for mountain bike enthusiasts who appreciate less crowded places, more relaxed rhythms of riding. It will be a day when great attention will be paid also to the charm of this land and the silence of the forest.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
During or after rain the complexity of the tour changes completely because of slick trails.
BEST SEASON
The organization of the tour is strongly influenced by weather conditions (snow). In favourable weather conditions, the tour usually begins in late spring and lasts until the end of October.
This tour is not planned for the winter season.
IMPORTANT
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that changes in the program are possible due to forest policy (tree cutting, white road construction and other reasons).

The tour is for those who, in addition to adoring mountain biking and nature, also appreciate the beauty of landscapes and want their MTB experience to be unique.
